The purpose of the Mentoring Program is for followers of Jesus to develop a long-term, one-on-one, discipleship relationship with a child from the Eastgate Terrace community in North Little Rock. Through this relationship, we hope to introduce children to the love of Jesus and make disciples who make disciples.
Mentors commit to meeting once a week during the school year with their mentee to build a discipleship relationship with the help of a structured program provided by the staff. Mentors and mentees meet at the STEP Family Outreach Center for an hour and a half to study the Bible, learn life skills, play games, and be discipled in following Jesus. Every fourth week, upon adequate attendance and participation, mentors and mentees participate in a Faithfulness outing. This is a time to deepen the relationship away from the STEP facilities with a fun activity.
